Uptown Dental Gig Harbor is always finding ways to make your dental visit more comfortable. That’s why we offer OraVerse: the next step in dental technology. This product provides patients with quick comfort who dislike the lingering numbness following local anesthesia.
OraVerse is highly effective to helping your mouth feel normal again following a local anesthetic. Lingering numbness can last for up to 5 hours, but OraVerse can cut this by more than half. As a result, you can get on with your day sooner without having your mouth feeling numb all day.
While OraVerse is safe to use, children under age 6 or who weigh less than 15 kg (33 lb) should not take OraVerse.
With the use of phentolamine or other alpha-adrenergic blocking agents, there’s always the chance of tachycardia, bradycardia, and cardiac arrhythmias occurring. While these symptoms are uncommon with OraVerse (a phentolamine mesylate) dentists should pay attention to such signs and symptoms. Patients who have a history of cardiovascular disease should also be monitored.
People who have taken high doses of phentolamine (5-15 times higher than the recommended dosage) have reported experiences of myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular spasm and occlusion.
At Uptown Dental Gig Harbor, your safety is our number one concern. We will perform a thorough examination to ensure you’re a good candidate for OraVerse. If you would like to learn more, please click here or call our office today.
